3. Why are the “Equity Funding” and “Enron” events so important to computer auditing?

The reason why the “Equity Funding and “Enron” events are so important to computer auditing is because of the large-scale fraudulent scandals within the companies.

4. What are the differences in “auditing through the computer” versus the more traditional book and records audit?

There are a few differences in “auditing through the computer” versus the more traditional book and records audits. However, there is one main difference and that is computer audits are a lot quicker because it is easier for auditors to apply filters to computer logs in order to find all the information they need and deciphering data that is received. Log books can be harder to decipher and easily manipulated or falsified because it is written down information whereas the computers information can make it harder because it is not written down it is logged into the computers database.
