Outsourcing has become the norm in many of our companies here in the US. Like you stated, most call centers are now outsourcing. If you have to call certain companies concerning their products, you will often hear people in different languages talking on the other end of the line, that’s because they could be in India, China or elsewhere. This can be good and bad. On the good end, the company is saving money in most cases. On the bad side, is that some outsourcing can take away from American jobs, due to the salaries, which are mostly less in other countries than in the US. Another bad side could be the quality, such as the McDonald’s toys, which are cheaply made.
